Prior Museum Experience Recommended Recommended Applicant must have experience working in museums and must have staff-level access to a museum's collections. (This experience may be gained during a job or while volunteering.)
Letters of Recommendation Two letters of recommendation must be submitted from individuals familiar with your academic work. Applicants with museum experience may have a museum supervisor also submit a letter of recommendation. One letter of recommendation, preferably from a museum professional at your sponsoring institution that is familiar with your work and can confirm your staff-level access to the museum's collections.

Fellowships Some partial fellowships are available and are awarded based on academic merit. To be considered, indicate interest on application and submit your applications by January 5th. None Partial fellowships may be available for staff from museums for which their participation would make a significant impact on their museum or community. Staff from small museums or from museums in under-served communities, such as tribal museums, are particularly encouraged to apply. To apply, please mark the appropriate box on the online application requesting financial support and include an explanation in your personal statement about your qualifications for the fellowship according to these guidelines.
